Straight answers about the silver, the sizing and the animals — including the ones that aren’t in our favour. Better you know now than after it arrives.
Is it real silver, or silver-plated?
Real. Every ring is S925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver alloyed for strength — and carries the 925 stamp on the inside of the band. Nothing is plated over brass or copper.
The honest trade-off: sterling silver tarnishes a little over months of wear. That’s silver reacting with the air, not a defect, and a polishing cloth takes it off in under a minute.
Will it turn my finger green?
No. Green fingers come from cheap plating wearing through to the copper or unnamed alloy underneath. There is no plating here to wear through — the band is solid sterling silver all the way in.
Sterling silver is also nickel-free, so it’s the metal most people with sensitive skin can wear every day without a reaction.
How do I get the size right?
Most of the animals are open bands: the two ends don’t meet, so you can gently open or close the ring a size or so to sit where you want it. Sizing notes are on every product page.
If it still isn’t right, size exchanges are free. Wear it for a day first — fingers change size between morning and evening more than people expect.
Can I wear it in the shower, the pool, the sea?
Shower: yes. Pool and sea: take it off. Chlorine and salt water speed up tarnish and can dull the polished surfaces on the animal itself.
If it does get wet, rinse in fresh water and dry it properly — especially around the detail. Store it in the box or a small pouch when you’re not wearing it and it stays bright far longer.
How do I pick an animal for someone else?
Go by the trait, not the animal. Every product page says what its animal stands for — the whale for calm, the koi for perseverance, the dragonfly for change — so choose the one you’d want to remind them of. That’s what turns a ring into a gift they keep.
If they already have a favourite animal, that wins every time. If you’re unsure on size, an open-band design gives you the most room.
